Lynn Darling is an internationally acclaimed motivational speaker and an
expert in the fields of image and personal growth and development. For the
past 15 years, as a speaker, author and spokesperson, she has specialized
in issues of self-acceptance, self-esteem and self-image. Debbie is a graduate
and accredited facilitator for Jack Canfields self esteem program
as well as an accredited facilitator for Dr. Teri Mahaneys Change
Your Mind system. Debbies the author of the Upsize Woman in a Downsize World book and tape series; Dress to Look Your Best: Fashion Secrets the Experts Dont Share (due out Fall 2005 and already published in eight languages); and the childrens books Blueberry Hill: The Power of Love and Yellow Dress Goes to the Dance. She pens her own newspaper column entitled "Fitting In". Shes represented such companies as Nightingale Conant, The Winner, Budget Rent-a-Car, Polaroid and Ohio Bell. Shes done plus size catalog, runway, in-store and portfolio modeling for Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillards, Kaufmanns, Lazarus, Lord and Taylor, Neiman Marcus and others. From 1994-1995 she wrote all the spots and jingles for the radio show More Than Meets the Eye and has made numerous radio and television appearances including the Richard Simmons Show, Hard Copy, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Debbies a Cleveland native and a graduate of Bradford College. Her extensive travels throughout the world inspired her travel company Voyager: Journeys for the Soul created to help women reconnect with their feminine spirits by traveling to sacred places rich in feminine history. In 1996 she garnered a lot of media attention for creating a first of its kind week long retreat program for plus size women Blueberry Hill Retreat in Ohiofocusing on helping women create a positive self-image and greater self-esteem. She served as its director from 1996-2000. From May 1998-May 2002 Deborah was under exclusive contract with Catherine's Stores Corporation as their national spokesperson. In that capacity, she traveled all over the United States teaching women how to look and feel their best. Her responsibilities included: training store employees across the country in the Body Basics Program-teaching how to choose the right colors and styles for their customers; setting up in-store events; conducting in-store, one-on-one image consultations as well as customer seminars; writing Catherine's bi-monthly newsletter Positively Plus; setting up all PR relating to the Body Basics Program and her in-store events;choreographing and commentating all fashion shows; answering all email to the Ask Debbie section of the newsletter and website; and making hundreds of personal appearances on radio and television shows across the country promoting new store openings for all four divisions of the company. From May 2002 to June 2003 she took time off to write and promote her book Dress to Look Your Best: Fashion Secrets the Experts Don't Share, which has since been published in 8 languages. From July 2003 to November 2003 she was in charge of Edward Perdian's Mayoral campaign in her hometown of Garrettsville--planning and implementing all the events and handling all the PR for the campaign. While Debbie's new online fitness program for women at www.fattofitwithme.com is slated to be a great success, she's busy writing her next book entitled Fat to Fit with Me and she's back on the speaking circuit appearing in front of Women's Groups and Expos across the country. Her fashion shows garner standing room only audiences and her talks are both funny and informative. Debbie has a strong inner philosophy of self-acceptance and believes that self worth should never be tied to age, size or shape. She teaches effective techniques to achieve peace of mind and happiness and she helps people focus on fitness, good self-image and dressing to look their best. |
