My
Story
For the past 30 years Ive earned a very good living being a plus
size woman. Starting as a plus size model then commentating fashion shows
and speaking on issues of self esteem and self image for women, becoming
an author and finally the spokesperson for the largest retailer of plus
size womens clothing in the world. But while I was plus size I was
never unfit until NOW!
I knew the importance of a good diet and exercise program to creating
and maintaining a healthy body, mind and spirit. Yet even with that knowledge
I allowed myself to make poor diet and exercise choices blaming my choices
on my busy lifestyle.
From 1996-2002 I was traveling 20-25 days per month putting in long days
between television and radio appearances, in store trainings, one on ones
with customers, talks and seminars. I was living out of a suitcase and
opted for the extra half hour of sleep over exercising.
Missing meals, eating on the run and restaurant eating didnt do
a whole lot for my nutritional health either. The high percentage of fat,
sugar, sodium etc. in restaurant foods started a steady weight gain and
with no exercise to help burn calories and keep muscle tone the weight
turned to solid fat. As a result of my poor choices, I not only gained
70 pounds but more importantly lost muscle tone and became UNFIT and unhealthy.
Its okay to be fat but its not okay to be unfit.
There must be a better way
!
By the time my life became less hectic, I found myself unfit and depressed.
I wanted to exercise but I felt too fat and unfit to go to a gym and try
to keep up with the thin aerobics instructors not to mention feel inconspicuous
among all those skinny women. I weighed 314 pounds for goodness sake.
I would have loved to have a personal trainer come to the house and create
exercises for me starting at my present fitness level but who can afford
that I thought? I wondered if other women felt the same way?
I also knew that most diet and exercise programs only dealt with the physical
manifestations of being unfit and didnt delve into the mental, emotional
or spiritual reasons. If I was going to be successful at getting fit,
I had to get totally fit not just physically fit. Then it hit me. Why
not create my own program that incorporated exercise, meditation, visualization,
sound healing, aromatherapy and more. And why not open it up to other
women so they could get fit along with me. So I put together this wholeness
program that helps to center, balance and calm the inner world while bringing
the gym to you.
I have created several workout programs starting with basic
stretching and resistance and working my way up to more strenuous programs
as I reach a greater level of fitness. The programs incorporate a combination
of strength, resistance and aerobic training to help us achieve optimal
physical fitness quickly. I am already down 25 pounds as a result of these
programs. You can now exercise with me daily for FREE.
I am a plus size woman so
I know what its like to be fat and uncomfortable in my body. Thats
something most size 6 aerobics instructors cant imagine. I know
some of you are going to have to start out slow and thats exactly
what we are going to do. The days of sitting on a back burner watching
other people having the fun are over. We are going to get healthy and
begin to really enjoy our lives. We are going to get fit together.
